Didier Drogba OUT of World Cup with fractured elbow

UPDATE - JUNE 6, 2010 - Drogba undergoes surgery. There is a chance he might be able to play in World Cup. PLZ, dude!
This is sad news. I was really looking forward to seeing Drogba in action, so this really diminishes the competition of Group G, where Ivory Coast & Portugal were going to duke it out for 2nd place behind Brazil.
Think of this like the Los Angeles Lakers losing Kobe Bryant right before the NBA Finals. They’d still be the Lakers, but at about 60% effectiveness. Sorry, Cote D’Ivoire. C’est la vie.
